1923 General Election

Independent Liberal gain from Liberal / Leifchild Stratten Leif-Jones
Both candidates were technically Liberal candidates, having been nominated by two separate factions of the party. Jones was supported by Asquith supporters and the Liberal 600, while Moreing was supported by Lloyd George supporters and the local Conservatives. As Moreing was recognised by party headquarters, Jones is designated a Liberal.
